WALPOLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: 34
The Charlestown Middle School boys basketball team got out to a fast start today in the season rubber match with Walpole taking the win with a score of 40-34.
Charlestown’s defense was tough on Walpole holding them to just 2 points in the first quarter. Walpole came out hot after halftime lead by Ledger Willet’s four three pointers in the quarter. He scored 14 of his game high 22 in the third quarter alone.
Going into the fourth quarter Charlestown led 32-22 and held on for the win. Charlestown was led by Luke St. Pierre with 12 and Carmine Bactad added 10 along with some great defense by Cole Garrow and Tyler Metcalf. Joshua Town took care of the glass limiting Walpole’s second chance possessions.
The 4 and 1 Forts will face off against Vilas on March 3rd in Charlestown.
